what is eirene?
Eirene is an international digital youth magazine created as a space for young people to express themselves through art, writing, photography, film, and other forms of creative work.
Sometimes, young people have something to say but nowhere that feels like it belongs to them. Eirene was created to be that space — a place where thoughts can become poems, memories can become stories, feelings can become images, and ideas can become something other people can finally see.
Here, being young isn’t something that makes your voice less important. It is part of what makes your perspective yours.
02 / WHY WE EXIST
A thought stays in a notes app. A poem stays in a notebook. A photograph stays in a camera roll. A story is written and never shown to anyone. Eirene exists for those things.
We want to create a space where young creators can share their work, discover other voices from around the world, and see that the things they experience are not necessarily theirs to carry alone.

Our first issue is about the space between people — the pause on the line, the letter still in transit, the friendship that survives a bad connection. Eighteen contributors, six countries, one very long group call to put it all together.
Maybe it is a poem. Maybe it is a photograph. Maybe it is a story you have never shown anyone. Whatever form it takes, there might be a place for it here.
